About Latoya Russaw

Hey, I'm Latoya Russaw, an agent born and raised in Detroit, MI. Growing up in poverty, I always thought you had to be rich to own a home, but I was determined to prove that wrong. I became the first in my family to buy a house, and now I’m on a mission to show others that homeownership is not only possible but attainable for everyone.

I have a deep passion for working with first-time homebuyers and those who think owning a home is out of reach. I understand the doubts and fears that come with the process, which is why I strive to make every step as seamless and supportive as possible. I stay up-to-date with the latest real estate trends and continue my education through training classes to keep my knowledge sharp.

One of my proudest moments as an agent was helping an international client—who was initially nervous about investing in a property in Detroit—secure their first investment property. It wasn’t easy, but we made it work. Seeing their excitement when the deal closed made every challenge worthwhile.

Outside of real estate, I’m an animal lover. I’ve rescued birds, dogs, and cats, and I never hesitate to feed a stray. I have a dog myself—a sweet 8-year-old Bichon Frisé. I’m also an outdoors enthusiast, enjoying activities like camping, bike riding, stargazing, and hiking. I recently joined a hiking group, so I’m excited to explore new trails and adventures!

But most importantly, I cherish quality time with my family. I’m a proud parent to my daughter and am actively involved in caring for my nephew. Family is everything to me.
